Anti-Rant
I’m gonna try an anti-rant today. Things that I like instead of hate. I can’t really say that they are things that I love, because cold-hearted people like me are incapable of that emotion. Like will have to do.
In no particular order…
Free trips to Disneyland. Tomorrow. I cannot thank to Tink enough for the past few years’ worth of free trips. He’s leaving his job there this coming Friday for more pay and less stress, so tomorrow might very well be the last time I go for free. I’ll have a week to try to cram another trip in. We’ll see.
Blowjobs. There isn’t a man alive that doesn’t like blowjobs. I don’t care if the girl swallows or spits or gargles with it so long as she sucks.
My car. There’s something really amazing about driving a convertible Mustang. When the weather is nice (not too hot, not too bright, and not too cold), the top is down, and the speedometer is getting a good workout, life is good.
Free movies. I actually sort of miss going to the screenings in L.A. that I used to go to all the time. That’s something on DVDs that is the final selling point if I’m considering buying it: free ticket inside. The new releases of the American Pie DVDs with send-us-your-tickets-and-we’ll-send-you-a-refund aren’t as good as opening up the Bad Boys DVD and staring at a free admission coupon. Using Jedi Mind Tricks on the concessions people so that they don’t pitch the special and I get a free re-admission ticket is pretty good, too. Granted, movies are pretty cheap, and there are other things that I’d rather be saving money on, but free movies are still pretty high on my list for the principle of it I guess.
New Music. It’s always nice when bands I like come out with new albums. Currently the new 311 and the new Thrice are so over-played (because they are so good) that my roomates have asked me not to play them at night when they are home, so I have to listen during the day. The new RX Bandits is good, too. Then, of course, there are some new ones pending that I’m looking forward to.
My neice. My neice is great. I’m probably never gonna have kids (aren’t you all glad?) so I live vicariously through my sister and my friends that have kids. Disneyland was fun with kids that had perpetual smiles on their faces. Even Sea World where the younger of the two was set on throwing starfish around in the pool where you get to pick them up (and then restrain him from jumping in for a swim) was great fun. I’m going up north to see my neice next weekend for her fourth birthday party, so that is gonna be a good time.
Inspiring people to think. It’s like someone famous said to me, “You don’t have to make them laugh, you just have to make them think.” I take these words to heart all the time. Admittedly, I didn’t think that the cat violence (real or imagined) would piss people off like it did, but I don’t complain. It’s like that line from the Howard Stern movie. The average Howard Stern fan listens for an average of ___ hours a day and the average Howard Stern hater listens for ___ (more than the fan) hours a day. Or whatever it was. I know I probably have more people that hate me than like me. However, people still what I write, whether they like it or hate it.
South Park. I stopped watching television shortly after junior high school (in the 80s) and only started watching again during my first (and only) year at UCSD where I watched the first season of The Simpsons and Late Night With David Letterman. When I left school for the military, I stopped watching TV. I think I watched stuff like Beavis & Butthead (which is about 1,000 times funnier when drunk) when it was on, but South Park is the first show that I watch every episode for since about 20 years ago. I started during the first season during the first run of the first six episodes. In my opinion the show keeps getting funnier. When I had to take 15 minute breaks from SWG recently, I made them 22 minute breaks and watched an episode as my pseudo-timer. Great stuff.

not badWow, I didn't know you went to UCSD. I'm going there this fall. And one of the better rants(or anti-rants) in a while.
