Stop Telling Me About The Macbook Air
Do I think that the newly unveiled Macbook Air is sexy? Yes I do. Do I think it’s a reasonable to pay 2 grand after taxes for a laptop that is less powerful than my PC laptop purchased 2 years ago just because it is smaller and sexier? No I do not. And just to save any of my Mac using friends some time, before bringing this up to me, answer this question:
Oh, and no replaceable battery? Fuck you.

Yeah, it's sexy...but it screams "gimmick". Typical Steve Jobs. It can't be practical, or any faster than my G4 AGP box sitting here collecting dust.

No user-replaceable battery, or use-upgradeable parts (2GB RAM is both the default and the maximum) because you either get "world's thinnest notebook" or "case for people to dick around in"- not both. This is also not a machine for anyone who uses a laptop as their main machine, and definitely not a video editing rig, which is about the only thing firewire should be used for anyway.
