Band: Guttermouth
Album: "Guttermouth"
Guttermouth is a local Orange County punk band who released this album
in 1993. It was their first release on Dr. Strange Records. If you have heard this record
you all ready know why this is my first choice to review. Song 8 is titled Bruce Lee
vs.The Kiss Army. This track could be the foundation for the greatest comic book ever. The
thought of Gene Simmons spitting a fireball at Mr. Lee while in mid back flip just makes
me want to go and start my own cult. Then if that’s not enough to spark you interest,
1…2…3…SLAM could be the best jingle on the LP. In this joint the lead
singer Mark tells an eloquent story of what life is like to have a black father and a
white mother, and to be stuck living in suburban hell. This band has a pop/punk style with
a superb point of view on the quirks of the suburban nightmare that is Orange County. I
truly love this album. Buy it, record it, do anything you can to get. Just e-mail and I
